The most romantic day of the year is just around the corner, and so we’ve rounded up a few places that will help you celebrate
Flowers are the classic Valentine's Day gift. From huge bouquets of roses to small posies of exotic flowers in myriad colors, flowers are an almost guaranteed hit. Alpine Floral (434 East Main Street) is a Montrose mainstay, and this year it will, once again, offer a wide range of beautiful bouquets for Valentine’s Day. You can choose from pre-arranged options or work with experts there to create your own. Alpine offers a range of price points, too. On top of gorgeous flower arrangements, Alpine also offers a range of delectable chocolate truffles.
A new floral business, Dayzee Duke Floral has just opened its doors in downtown Montrose at 219 N. 1st Street in downtown! They too have beautiful bouquets that can be ordered online and delivered!
City Market (128 South townsend) also has a small floral department and already had arrangements and gifts for Valentine’s Day.
If flowers aren’t for you or your significant other, or if you want to really treat that special person in your life, Montrose Downtown has plenty of other gift options. For jewelry and other beautiful trinkets, The Green Cupboard (443 East Main Street) is an accessories store with 100 percent of the profits going to non-profit Sharing Ministries Food Bank. From now until Valentine’s Day stop by and get between $1 - $10 off your purchase when you draw a ticket at checkout.
Ouray Silversmiths (312 East Main Street) offers beautiful handmade jewelry, while Colorado High Grade Silver Studios (227 East Main) offers you the chance to create your own unique piece that can be customized to celebrate your relationship.
If the sound getting creative appeals to you, there are a few additional options. Amazing Glaze (209 East Main Street, click here to see a short video about Amazing Glaze) offers everyone from beginners to experts the chance to paint, glaze and fire their own piece of pottery. There are also a few other options available, including various painting classes. Great for Valentine’s Day and date nights in general!
Other gift options include Maggie’s Books (345 East Main Street) which has a fantastic range of books on everything from fantasy and food and so much more!
Other great ideas for date night downtown include the date night classic, dinner and a movie. With plenty of restaurants located downtown, some of which have a more romantic vibe including Ginger and Gin (747 East Main Street) and Trattoria di Sofia (110 North Townsend Avenue), and the historic Fox Theater (27 South Cascade Ave), is a great place to head to wrap up a romantic night.
For animal lovers, Valentine’s Day can be celebrated at Chow Down (202 East Main) with the For the Love of Paws Bake Sale. Animals from the Montrose Animal Shelter will be at the store (and available for adoption) with a bake sale from 11am - 2pm with a variety of sweet treats for both people and pets.
